About the Project

Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth — an Erasmus+ project coordinated by TÜRGEV.

SOCIAWARE is a youth project carried out under the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme and coordinated by the Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV). It brings together young people interested in game software and production and offers them an international learning environment, a strong training programme and a first-hand look at the industry.

Our aims

  • To contribute to the technical quality of digital games produced in Europe,
  • To reduce regional differences in game software skills across the European Union,
  • To raise young people's interest in game software and turn it into qualified employment,
  • To support sustainable development in IT and social inclusion through technology.

Who is it for?

The project targets 40 young people aged 18–29 who speak English and are interested in game software and production. The planned distribution is 25 participants from Türkiye, 5 from France, 5 from Portugal and 5 from Germany.

Candidates with intermediate or advanced English, a certified game development course or current work in the field are preferred.

Training and mobilities

The training is delivered online by Bahçeşehir University's Digital Game Design department and totals 184 hours. Online learning is complemented by one-week mobilities in Türkiye, Germany, France and Portugal, where participants join workshops, visit game studios and technology companies, and experience the culture of the partner countries.

The training and learning mobilities were planned for May 2022 – March 2023. The schedule may change in cases of force majeure, in which case make-up sessions are organised.

Certificate

Participants who meet the attendance requirement (at least 80%) receive a free certificate at the end of the training.
